Charlie Blackburn, a junior at St. Teresa High School recently learned that he earned a perfect composite score on his ACT – 36. Blackburn received his results just before Christmas on December 19, 2017. Charlie stated that he, “was really surprised to have gotten a perfect score. I knew I did well but was not expecting that.”
Data from ACT.org shows that for the graduating class of 2016, out of more than 2 million students that took the ACT, only 2,235 scored a perfect 36 – or 0.1%. Since 1999, five (5) St. Teresa students have earned a perfect composite score on their ACT.
“Charlie is a very involved student (baseball, Kairos, National Honors Society, Relay for Life and WYSE),” says Principal Larry Daly. “We are extremely excited for him and know he has a bright future ahead of him after he graduates from St. Teresa next year.”
Charlie’s educational plans for the future include pursuing a degree in something math or science related. His parents, Amy and Brian, shared, “Charlie is a great kid and a hard worker. We are extremely proud of him and know he’ll continue to do great things.”
