Congratulations to our WYSE Team for finishing second at sectionals and qualifying for the state competition.
WYSE is short for Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering. The competition is sponsored by The School of Engineering at The University of Illinois. A team consists of fourteen students who take tests which cover the subjects of Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering Graphics, English, Mathematics, and Physics.
Individuals that finished in the top three are: Tegan Lakshmanan, 1st in English and 3rd in Math, Shirley Syed, 1st in Chemistry and 2nd in Biology, Alex Hein, 2nd in English, and Mitchell Vandercar, 2nd in Chemistry. The team advances to the state competition held at the University of Illinois on April 18.
We wish the students good luck next month at the state competition as they try to improve on their 10th place finish last year.
