Your favorite memory of your time at St. Teresa:
I have so many great memories of St. Teresa; from homecoming week to just everyday school with my friends. One of my favorite memories was competing for Mr. and Mrs. Bulldog against my friend Doyle. She and her partner, Goose, beat Matt DeCosse and me in the Twinkie eating contest!
What does “leadership” mean to you and how do you utilize leadership in your daily life?
I think leadership means going through life strong in your own shoes and skin. To be a leader in how you decide to live your life day to day. Leadership also means keeping our daughter Bee out of trouble.
How was your St. Teresa education helped you with your current position of leadership?
As a freelance illustrator, I am a one-woman show. I have to be self-motivated and dedicated to completing projects for upcoming deadlines, it is a similar idea of homework when at St. Teresa. While there was so many fun after school activities I wanted to be at, I also had to be able to balance school with the social aspect and dedicate myself to completing the tasks that my name was attached to. Leadership plays a role in my business because I have to take initiatives, make the choices I think are best for myself and career, I am 100% the leader in all aspects of my illustration career.
What advice would you give to a current student?
My best advice would be to use your time at St. Teresa to find great friends, ones you will know for years to come, but also use that time to try to find what you love in life, and if you love it enough you can make a career out of it. I always joked I wanted to color for the rest of my life, and with the help of many art classes while at St. Teresa and continued education and dedication, I now am.
What would you say to a family considering to attend St.Teresa?
From my experience, it won’t disappoint. I not only received a great education, but the people and memories I have from St. Teresa make it a really positive part of my life.
