Your favorite memory of St. Teresa High School. The school camaraderie and spirit was always wonderful. I have great memories of friends, decorating the halls and lockers before football games, homecoming float building, and parades, state football championships too! I also have great memories of the community volunteer work that was encouraged by St. T.
What does “leadership” mean to you and how do you utilize leadership in your daily life? Leadership is finding your passion in life and then living in a way that motivates others to work with you in reaching a goal and affecting the world in a positive way. I believe you lead by example. A true leader is able to motivate others to use their gifts and talents in the most effective way.
How has your education at St. Teresa helped you with your current position and how does leadership play a role? My years at St. Teresa helped me to develop leadership skills. Through the clubs and activities and the supportive faculty, I was able to find my strengths and build my self-confidence. My experience at St. Teresa also opened my eyes to needs in the community. Through Mission Club and the encouragement of Sister Susan, I volunteered as a Big Sister, visited seniors in a local nursing home facility, and participated in other outreach activities. This encouragement and experience I think influenced many of my career choices in life.
What advice would you give to a current student? Enjoy your experience at St. T! Participate in many activities because just as important as academics is your growth spiritually, as a leader, and finding your passion in life. St. Teresa is able to help provide all of this to students.
What would you say to a family that is considering attending St. Teresa? St. Teresa has so much to offer a student. The smaller environment allows students to “shine” in many ways, experience many different clubs and activities, and it provides that individual attention to students. The academics are strong, but the development of the entire student is so very important. At St. Teresa your student will be looked at holistically, mind, body, and spirituality.
